Six Burger Stops Worth Trying, Plus a Student Mural
Plus: Copley Middle School girls win a state title, and Boston Mills Road closes
Happy Friday, Summit County.
In 1869, Rutgers beat Princeton 6-4 in what counts as the first official college football game. Our own winners today are the Copley Middle School girls, who brought home a state title.
We lead with Nordonia students and the mural they painted in Northfield Center. Then come a Boston Mills Road closure, Akron's Veterans Day office schedule and a full Saturday of plans.
This week
- Nordonia students paint a mural in Northfield Center
- Boston Mills Road closes for bridge work; Stow moves two Crossroads 91/59 projects ahead
- Richfield offers driveway plowing help; Copley Middle School girls win a state title
- Spotlight: casual spots to grab a bite

Nordonia Students Paint Mural in Northfield Center
Macedonia, Northfield, Northfield Center - A two-story mural painted by Nordonia High School students now decorates the Ohio Time Corporation's building, and its subject is local history. For neighbours in Macedonia, Northfield and Northfield Center, it is a large piece of public art made by teenagers from our own schools.
The project puts student work where anyone driving or walking past can see it. Instead of a classroom wall or a school hallway, the canvas is a working business building in the community, at a scale of two full stories.
The theme ties the art to the place. The mural honours the history of the area, so it shares part of the local story with people who pass it every day.
Hoodline reported on the finished work and credits it to Nordonia High School students.
Next time you pass through Northfield Center, it is worth a slow look at what local students have added to the streetscape.
